It's been absolutely frigid in Ann Arbor the past few weeks, so it seems a great time to reflect back on one of our gorgeous (and warm!) weddings from this past fall!
Vanessa and Erik were married on September 9th at Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester. It was outdoors in the perfectly maintained gardens in the back and it was so much fun! This couple had great taste in music. (Star Wars? Led Zeppelin? Aerosmith?) We had an awesome time performing arrangements of some super cool stuff for string trio. The guests loved their originality, and they even caught the eye of a special visitor!
In the middle of the address to the couple, a green garden snake actually slithered out from Vanessa's wedding dress. I have to hand it to her; I was wildly impressed by how quickly she pulled herself together after an initial outburst and continued on with her vows!
The snake then made his way down towards us for a moment, before disappearing back into the gardens behind the couple. It certainly made for a moment that all the guests are not likely to ever forget!
We finished the ceremony with some Elvis and Beatles, and then let the wedding party get on with their celebration! Hopefully no more uninvited guests made an appearance...
It's always a blast working with the staff at Meadowbrook hall. They do an amazing job on every event, and always have so much attention to detail. We can't wait to play there again with some nice, warm weather!
until next time!
